Diwali delicacies

Diwali – the festival of lights, the new year. A time to celebrate, a time to rejoice, meet and greet friends and relatives. The fragrance of sweets fills the air and pretty boxes packed with delectable ladoos, barfis and other choicest delicacies have piled up at homes. Diwali, after all, is incomplete without sweets.

Wake up… Diwali is over.

Having enjoyed all the Diwali festivities over the past few days and having had your fill of slacking from the gym while satisfying every food craving, it is now time to get back into the groove of a balanced diet routine.

Where to start? What to do? Here are some pointers

  1. You start today, now, this instant.
  2. Don’t stop eating but eat the right foods .
  3. Fill up on fruits (fresh fruit platter) and vegetables (soup, juice or salad). Say NO to Fruit juices.
  4. Drink plenty of water.
  5. Start back the 30 min exercise regime.
  6. Eat small meals frequently rather than large ones.
  7. Avoid sugar or any artificial sweetness.
  8. Remove the whites (maida, white breads, white rice)

Remember Healthy Eating is a lifestyle not a DIET.

Good decision + Daily discipline = Successful weight loss.
